Winner Announced in Poster Art Competition

June 11, 2010

The Hammondsport Chamber of Commerce sponsored a poster competition for the 2010 ‘Music in the Park’ summer concert series, with the winner receiving $500 and 2 runners-up receiving $100 each.  The poster competition was made possible by the proceeds from the “Palettes of Keuka” which is a summer long art tour and auction in the greater Hammondsport/Keuka Lake area. The judging was held on June 5th and out of 18 entrants the winning design was painted by

Melissa Pilkerton of Avoca. Melissa is a 20 year old nursing student at Corning Community College. Her winning design will be made into the official poster for the event as well as sideline banners for the bandstand in the park. The Runners-Up were Kristi Bates of Hornell and Joanne Reagan-Case of Bath.  An Honorable Mention was awarded to Sharon Maurice of Corning.
