Dr. Frank Wines Featured at State Luncheon

Hammondsport, New York – June 16, 2011 – Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars is pleased to announce that four of its wines were featured at a State Luncheon hosted by The Vice President and Dr. Biden and The Secretary of State in honor of Her Excellency Dr. Angela Merkel Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Prior to the luncheon, the Office of the Chief of Protocol requested to sample several wines from Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars and determined that four of the wines would be perfect pairings for their luncheon menu.

The luncheon, which took place in the Benjamin Franklin Room of the U.S. Department of State on June 7, 2011, featured the Chateau Frank Célèbre Rosé and 2010 Grüner Veltliner for the reception portion of the event. For the luncheon portion of the event, the 2010 Semi-Dry Riesling and 2008 Lemberger were featured.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars is honored to have been a part of this event. Located on Keuka Lake a few miles north of Hammondsport, Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars has long been associated with the New York wine revolution. Its founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank, helped pioneer the introduction of the European vitis vinifera grapevines in the eastern United States . For his contributions in the American wine industry he was inducted into the Wine Spectator’s “Hall of Fame.” Now in its third generation, Dr. Konstantin Frank Wine Cellars continues as New York ’s most award-winning winery since 1962.
